The Transcantabric (2010-2011)

Since 1983 the Transcantabric train has run along Spain’s North shore. Its eight day long tour originates either in the cathedral city of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, or in the legendary Castilian city of Leon an inland city 150 miles from Santiago.

On its Easterly course there are planned stops with time dedicated to the exploration of places such as Los Picos de Europa, Santillana del Mar and the Altamira Caves. It also stops for visitis to a series of sea-side cities like Playa de las Catedrales, Luarca, Llanes, Oviedo, Gijon, Santander, San Sebastian and Bilbao. On this last city the tour includes a visit to the world famous Guggenheim Museum plus several other activities.

This is a not yet completed reportage of this luxury rail tour.
